In the second season of Beast Brigade, it is discovered that a secret organization known only as V.I.L.E. has used a shard of Morphinium to create their own team of Rangers... but for purposes which Rangers were never intended to serve.

Five marginalized youths from different backgrounds are called upon by the mysterious benefactor, Dr. Gweneth Plight.

Jira Khongmulai is a foreign student from Thailand and a chef-in-training at Pristine Springs University. Unfortunately, he has run into money problems. In exchange for his participation in the Dark Squad program, he is richly compensated... but can this really be as good as it seems? Jira assumes the role of the Beast Brigade Topaz Ranger and his animal avatar is the Playful Pangolin.

Adela Dezeem is a half-Palestinian, half-Lebanese aspiring singer... but she can't seem to get her dreams off the ground because people are quick to judge her for her faith (she is a hijabi Muslimah). In exchange for her participation in the Dark Squad program, her career receives a boost that makes her a local celebrity... but how long can fame truly last? Adela assumes the role of the Beast Brigade Jade Ranger and her animal avatar is the Intrepid Asp.

Devlin Dawes used to live in the roughest town in the area. His parents were young when he was born and never fully adjusted to being parents, sometimes going to jail for months at a time. When Devlin came of age, he became the legal guardian of his little brother, Darius. When Darius develops a serious illness and Devlin is unable to pay medical costs for his treatment, he is approached by Dr. Plight and offered the role as team leader; Beast Brigade Onyx Ranger. He takes the job, adopting the animal avatar of the Raging Lion. Will all of this be enough to save Darius' life?

She ran away as soon as she could and has been making it on her own ever since, but scrapes with the law are making life increasingly hard for her. In exchange for her participation in the Dark Squad program, she is offered a clean slate and anew start... but can you ever really outrun your past without confronting it? Bex assumes the role of the Best Brigade Garnet Ranger and her animal avatar is the Swooping Hawk.

Andrei Petrovsky had to hide his sexuality from his extremely strict parents for most of his life until a slip-up caused him to accidentally out himself, at which time he was disowned. Now living alone in the world and trying to make it on his own, he's done some less-than-legal things to get by but the guilt is eating him alive. In exchange for his participation in the Dark Squad program, he is promised the new life he's always wanted... but is this promise too good to be true? Andrei assumes the role of Beast Brigade Tanzanite Ranger and his animal spirit is the Wily Wolf.

This team becomes rivals with the original Beast Brigade team in a mad dash to collect shards of an important Morphinium gem known as the Infinity Prism.
